- Barbara Corcoran explains how resending the same email with the changed subject line she suggests can get a response.
- This straight to face approach lets the recipient reply without feeling awkward for not responding earlier.
- The strategy is effective because it gently nudges the email to the top of the inbox without being pushy.
Writing emails for business or casual contact is not the most relaxing tasks, especially when one is expectantly waiting to receive their email. That is an experience that most of us have had at some point in our lives. Even Barbara Corcoran can relate. She is a real estate businesswoman and a prominent investor in the ABC Show “Shark Tank,” finds it equally annoying not getting responses to her emails, as many might expect an investor like her never having to face this issue.
In order to assist people suffering the same problem, Corcoran offered a smart trick on Instagram which he claims would guarantee a response from a recipient of an email. Barbara explains, “Does anyone understand how many times does one person find it insulting for a person not responding to their email? For me this is the order of the day, and I detest it.” The shark goes on to describe how simple yet effective her plan is: “An incredibly easy way to deal with this is to take the previous email and forward it to the same person but change the subject line to did you see this.”

Barbara Corcoran’s Smart Hack Can Get An Email Response!
According to her, this small tweak works wonders. It opens the door to a reply from the receiver without making them feel bad for taking a bit longer. With a subject line such as “Have you seen this?”, will provide a means where they can save themselves as they could respond with “Oh, I didn’t see it” and keep on chatting. The kink about this tactic is that it is very simple. By just shifting the email to the top of their mailbox with a different subject line, it will remind them of the message and let the message sink in without pressurizing them. It also makes it easier for them to respond and therefore the chances of getting a reply increase.
Barbara’s method should sound as a positive insight that it could be a minor change that can create a significant impact on communication. Whenever there is a situation where a sent email goes unnoticed, test out her method.
