Anastasia Heart brings her successful Etsy product, HeartPup, to the Shark Tank in episode 603. HeartPup is her line of dog carriers that act like a combination scarf/sling. She creates the dog carriers to be both functional and fashionable. The inspiration came from needing to tote around her small dog, Trixi, while traveling or just working around the house. As she says on her website: “Each design reflects a personal (yet universal) inspiration—from traveling the world. HEARTPUP’S collection is characterized by subtle details exacted with precision. The repertoire is playful and ferocious.”
Anastasia makes all the HeartPup slings herself from materials like recycled copper, leather, knit, and cashmere. For the small dog owner on the go, having a HeartPup handy makes trips with your pooch a bit easier. The dogs nestle into a pocket-like area in the sling, which hangs from the shoulders – not the neck. It’s comfortable for canine and human alike.
Ms. Heart is likely looking for a Shark’s help with distribution. Can she sling a good pitch and get an investment?
HeartPup Shark Tank Recap
Anastasia walks in wearing a HeartPup with her dog enclosed, while she explains her product. She’s seeking $25K for 10%. After her initial pitch, she hands out some samples. She reveals she’s done 980 units at $138 each in one year for about $130K in sales. The Sharks like her margins. Anastasia says she wants a Shark to be her answer people.
She wants the investment to get factory production off the ground. Robert doesn’t share her vision and he goes out, AFTER he scoops up Anastasia’s dog. Mark says he wouldn’t be a good partner, and he goes out. Lori thinks it’s too niche and too easy to replicate, so she goes out. Mr. Wonderful says he hates rat dogs and he goes out.
Daymond thinks there’s money to be made and offers $50K for 40%. Anastasia does the deal!

I do not think the carrier I received was worth the price. Shoddy construction and not like the polished products shown on the website.
