Pop It Pal Shark Tank Update – Shark Tank Season 10

pop it palSummer Pierce, Billy Pierce and Kayla Roof pitch Pop It Pal in episode 1005. This product satisfies that “disgusting little habit nobody likes to talk about.” It is a pimple popping simulator and it’s catching the toy and novelty world by storm.

Summer and Billy Pierce, a husband and wife entrepreneurial duo, invented Pop It Pal. Driving down the road one day, Summer asked Billy if it would be cool to make a device that recreated popping huge, disgusting pimples. Billy liked the idea and they started developing the product. They figured they could market it to fans of Dr. Pimple Popper, the collection of real zit popping videos that are disgusting people the world over.

Pop It Pal is a patent pending, silicone rectangle with little pore-like holes in it. Fill it with a bottle of Pop It Pal Puss and pop away. The Pop It Pals come in peach or brown colors and the puss comes in Standard or blue glitter color. The product is $19.99 and a bottle of puss is $5 (3 for $12.99). A portion of all proceeds goes toward organizations that battle the bullying problem.

It’s become an internet sensation and Fast Company called it “the next Fidget Spinner.” The Pierces and Kayla likely want a Shark to help them quickly capitalize on its trendiness. Will a Shark pop for this unique toy?

Pop It Pal Shark Tank Recap

Summer, Billy and Kayla enter the Shark Tank seeking $250,000 for 10% of the business. They tell their story and give their pitch, then hand out samples. The Sharks are a bit disgusted, until they hear the sales figures: $315,000 in the last 4 months! They cost $8.32 to make and sell for $19.99. An overseas supplier can get the cost down to $5. They are projecting $940,000 in sales for the year(2018).

Kevin likes what he hears and offers $250,000 for 5% plus a $1.50 per unit royalty until he recoups $750,000. He has one condition: they add new colors of puss. That grosses out the other Sharks. Mark offers $250,000 for 25% and the Roofs go with Kevin.

Pop It Pal Shark Tank Update

The Shark Tank Blog constantly provides updates and follow-ups about entrepreneurs who have appeared on the Shark Tank TV show. The deal with Kevin closed and the company is listed on his website. They took his suggestion and came out with different color puss. There’s even a glitter puss. As gross as the toy is, it apparently has therapeutic effect for folks suffering from dermatillomania, or chronic skin-picking. As of July, 2024, they are still in business with annual revenue of half a million dollars.
