Mark Cuban On Shark Tank Season 16

Highlights

  • Mark Cuban shared his views about artificial intelligence technology in the recent Jules Terpak podcast on YouTube.
  • Mark believes that ‘virtual humans’ are going to be a trend in the future.
  • The Shark investors added how AI models could serve individual needs.

In his long-term experience as a Shark investor, Mark Cuban has often made deals with pitchers bringing tech-based products. His journey as a billionaire, too, has been guided by his expertise in the software industry. This is why Mark has always been vocal about things related to technology.

The same was seen in his latest conversation with columnist Jules Terpak. Through Jules’ podcast, Mark Cuban expressed his views on how artificial intelligence (AI) can create ‘virtual humans.’ To support his statement, the Shark recalled his investment in ‘virtaulhumans.com,’ which posts ‘virtual human stuff’ and ‘avatars.’

Mark Cuban’s Views On ‘Virtual Humans’

Mark went on to say that if it gets easier to use AI in the future for creating a virtual human, one can create a virtual ‘you.’ Furthermore, users can have derivative versions of ‘you’ – the tall version, the short version, or the right version. This is how Mark accepted that AI holds great potential to change the way people interact with each other using technology.

The virtual environment created through the technology would result in virtual people and entertainment. So, users may not understand what is real and what is artificial. As a result, Mark believes that humans would have no other option than to find what they like, and that is going to be ‘insane.’

On hearing this, Jules asked the Shark investor if he thinks of these potential changes to happen positively. Mark replied that he was not sure if the changes brought forth by AI would be positive or negative. However, he added that he thinks people could get a chance to train AI models in the future.

The ‘AI Model’ Explained By Mark Cuban

According to Mark, with the help of this training, technology could be altered through a human lens. He told Jules that he could train his AI model and equip it with every information related to his videos, messages, and emails. If this happened, Mark believed he could create a human that looked like him and communicate with him.

After this, the Shark Tank judge negated previous notions of people that AI is a ‘big thing.’ Instead, he believes that in the near future, everyone will have their model of artificial intelligence. This would be a language model with similarities to Gemini, Open AI, and Meta.

Conclusion

The thoughts of Mark Cuban related to AI, as seen in Jules Terpak’s podcast, reflected the technology’s transformations. Mark reiterated that artificial intelligence could have a strong impact on the way humans interact with each other and how they self-represent themselves.

The Shark investor accepted that the technology’s future is uncertain, but it does have the potential to curb the difference between artificial and real. Additionally, Mark claimed that with training, AI models could serve individual needs.
