  • Circadian Optics, Tania Speaks, and Angels and Tomboys are some of the women-led pitches that garnered immense love from both the Sharks and audiences.
  • Each pitch has an inspiring factor, which can be the perfect motivation for aspiring entrepreneurs.

What happens when women take the lead and present one of the best shark tank pitches in the history of the show? Before diving deeper, here’s a small backdrop:

Gone are those days when men used to dominate the entrepreneurship space. Fueled by the desire to have economic stability and independence, women of the modern world have taken charge by themselves. They are their own boss and have joined in the wave of entrepreneurship, where they get to live their dream.

A report revealed that there are more than 12 million businesses across the USA that are owned completely by women. This is enough to vindicate the male face of entrepreneurship. Standing out and making your business visible to others becomes hugely difficult.

Over the years, many women have made their way towards Shark Tank, where they get to interact with an esteemed panel of Sharks. Widely known as Sharks, these veterans guide them and even invest in their business based on what they assess of their company.

Shark Tank offers them a platform where they get to introduce their company in front of the whole world. It bestows them with an opportunity where they can quickly earn the love of audiences and become an overnight sensation.

Have a look at some of the best Shark Tank pitches by female entrepreneurs:

1. Circadian Optics

Can a girl from Malaysia make her entrepreneurial dream come alive in the USA after a series of hardships? Well, this entrepreneur surely did.

Amber Leong, an immigrant from Malaysia came up to the Sharks with her brand named Circadian Optics for $750K at 10% equity. To put it simply, these are lamps that help to put an end to the sunless cycle that often occurs during winters. With this, one can bid goodbye to tiredness and sluggishness that happen due to lack of sunlight.

The genesis of the idea happened when Amber herself felt sick due to lack of sun exposure owing to her job which required her to stay indoors.

When the Sharks asked more about the motivation behind the company, she revealed that she was able to fulfill her American dream with the help of sacrifices and efforts made by her parents. Using their retirement funds and some borrowed money from friends & family they gave her a certain amount for her education and living expenses for one semester.

She further revealed that she was diagnosed with Toxic Shock Syndrome after coming to America. But her parents couldn’t be with her as they didn’t have the American visa.

Amber managed to endure it all and now stood firm in front of the Sharks pitching her product. The Sharks appeared pretty emotional on hearing her story.

Did she manage to bag a deal?

Yes, she did. After a few rounds of negotiations, Rohan marked himself out. Lori did show her interest to make her offer but only if some other Shark (hinting towards Mark) could join her. Mark and Lori started their discussion on the side. Kevin also teamed up with Barbara and offered $750K for 20% equity. Lori and Mark’s also made the same offer, i.e., of $750K at 20%, alongside an extra $50K for her parents. Ultimately, Amber accepted Lori and Mark’s offer.

While she was walking off, Kevin told her that this was one of the best presentations on the show.

2. Tania Speaks

Here’s how bullying in school drove a young teenager towards realizing and accomplishing her entrepreneurial dream.

Tania Speaks came up with her Shark Tank pitch for her organic skincare brand for $400K at 10% equity. Explaining the economics related to her brand she revealed that it had made $2.4 million in sales, which was completely online. The profit made in 2021 was $700K. Her brow gel under the label ‘Tania Speaks’ costs $1.10 and is sold at $29.

The sharks seemed happy. But what impressed them even more was her back story behind coming up with her own brand.

Tania was relentlessly bullied by her schoolmates for her bushy eyebrows. She was really troubled and begged her mom to let her shave them, which she denied owing to her young age. But one day she got severely upset and tried to shave on her own. Due to this, she got a cut so bad that she had to get stitches.

During the treatment process, she tried different organic solutions to grow her eyebrows back. The results were so good that even her bullies got impressed and asked her to give them the solution. Initially, she gave it to them for free, but then seeing the massive response she started selling organic aloe vera gels in jars for $3.

How did the deal turn out to be?

Mark stepped out first stating that it wasn’t his area. Kevin, though impressed by her story, was out as well. Barbara, Daymond, and Lori did the same. Just when Tania was about to leave, Mark stopped her and made an offer of $400K for 20%. However, the offer was dependent on his daughters. Tania countered it for 15%, which Mark agreed to eventually.

Although the deal didn’t close in coming years, the current sales of Tania’s company is nearing $3 million.

3. Angels and Tomboys

How did three sisters from Memphis manage to grab an investment deal and have all their products sold out?

Mallory, Viara, and Madison Boyd came up to the tank seeking an investment of $55K for 20% equity in their company Angels and Tomboys. Doing a little dance based on their brand’s theme song video, they described that the brand offers a line of lotions and sprays curated specifically for teen and tween girls.

Their products are different as they didn’t smell like a normal perfume that moms have. Further, they stated that every girl is different, so they’ve created different scents, including Lemonade Doughnuts, Monkey Fart, Deep Fried Ice Cream, and Watermelon Funk. Additionally, their lotions can be applied by both basket players and ballet dancers.

How were the Sharks convinced?

Throwing light on the business, they revealed that it costs $4 to make a bottle and they sell it at $12. Till date, they had sold about 5000 units for $59K sales. They’re eyeing on expanding towards a beauty products line.

Although the Sharks were impressed by the numbers, they shared their set of concerns as well. Robert was the first to step out saying he wouldn’t buy it for his kids. Kevin and Lori were also out. Mark and Daymond joined hands and made them an offer of $60K with $30K each for 33.3% of the company. The girls accepted the offer. After taking a sabbatical from the business, the girls (now young women) re-branded to appeal to older teens and twenty-somethings.

In A Nutshell

Women are tough, which is what makes them great entrepreneurs. Right from a young age, they hold a unique power to turn their hardships into successes with dedication and commitment like no one else. Each of the pitches discussed above, including Circadian Optics and Tania Speaks are the perfect examples of the same.
