It is a Black- and Asian-women-owned business. With lifetime sales of $600K, Hella Awkward came seeking $200K for 10% of their card game company. The game was ideated in quarantine when forming bonds and relationships was of utmost importance.

Each unit takes $2.80 to make and is sold at a price of $24.99. For additional questions, you can buy the Extension Pack for $12.99. The business has seen lifetime sales of $600K and is projected to hit $600K in sales this year.

Ever struggle with organizing your hats? No matter where you store them, it never seems to be the ideal place.

Item Description
Entrepreneurs John and Chelsea Giles
Pitch Summary The couple entered the show seeking $100K for 5% of their company. They explained the functionality of their product and how well they have designed it to fit perfectly in a small space. Founders demonstrated how hanging your hats at the back of a door could be unreliable or how placing them separately on a wall takes up so much space. They presented an amazing hat-dropping pitch, quite literally, and impressed the sharks.

Sharks Who Invested Kevin

A married couple from Marble Falls, Texas, came up with the ultimate solution for storing caps. Generally, we store caps in drawers, cupboards, or at the back of a door, but we know how that turns out. It is either too messy, takes up too much space, or does not hang well. John and Chelsea Giles have created Dome Dock, a design that keeps your hats securely stored while taking up the least space possible.

Dome Dock is a compact hat holder that mounts easily on the wall and keeps hats securely in place. It can hold up to 20 hats at once, making it simple to hang or remove any hat from the stack. By maximizing vertical space, it is an ideal solution for compact areas.

The product is available on their official website., with each piece sold for $24.99. The manufacturing cost is $2.91, and after deducting fulfillment fees, the profit margin is 15%.

When the couple revealed they were facing knockoffs, the sharks started to lose interest because no one wanted to go down that road.

However, Daymond proposed giving $100K in exchange for a 25% stake, which was much higher than the equity the entrepreneurs had initially offered. Seeing Daymond make this offer, Kevin, who had already backed out, reconsidered and offered $100K for 15% of the company.

The couple liked Kevin’s offer and accepted it.

3 Riverbend Resources- Poultry Feeder

Did you know that almost 10% of Americans have chickens as pets? It’s kind of hard to believe, and our sharks were also having a hard time wrapping their heads around it.

Item Description
Entrepreneurs Erik Diedrichsen
Pitch Summary The entrepreneur came on the show seeking $300K for 10% of the company. He explained the market need for poultry feeders that provide a clean and easy feeding alternative compared to traditional feeders. His company sells two kits: Poultry Pro Feeder and Poultry Pro Waterer.

Sharks Who Invested Daymond

Although there are many feathery pet owners in America, there exists a very common issue. The biggest problem faced by any poultry owner is that feeding the birds gets really messy. The food containers are always open, attracting a lot of unwanted pests. This contaminates the food as well. Riverbend Resources offers a mess-free solution to this.

Erik Diedrichsen was once in his yard, just holding a bucket of chicken food, thinking—if only there was something to make a hole in it, and the chickens would poke their heads in to eat, there would be no mess. And that’s when a simple yet effective design clicked, and he founded Riverbend Resources.

  • There are two products, Poultry Pro Feeder and Poultry Pro Waterer, to cover both food and water needs. Both of the products are sold in kits that include necessary parts for the feeder.
  • The Poultry Pro Feeder can fit in any plastic container. You need to cut a small circle and fit the feeder. The kit has a cutting tool in it. It only takes a few minutes to install the product.
  • The Poultry Pro Waterer comes with technology that allows it to self-fill and self-clean. It can contain up to 5 gallons of water at once. It is a great product in case you’re not home but still have chickens to provide water for.

Lori, Robert, and Mark believe that the product has potential and that the entrepreneur is skilled, but they stay out of making any deals because they cannot really relate to the business.

Kevin also could not make any deals because, according to him, he does not have expertise in that particular market. However, he says that since there is so much competition, it is obvious that it is a large market and the business has a good chance of growing.

Daymond, however, had some expertise in the field as he himself has a few chickens as well as some other animal pets. He offered the money Erik asked for in exchange for 25% equity. Erik asked if he would make it 20%, to which Daymond agreed.

The deal was made for 20% equity in exchange for $300K.

A theme park designed for you to experience the thrill of construction trucks and machines.

Item Description
Entrepreneurs Jacob Robinson
Pitch Summary The founder of Dig World presented a few clips and photos showing what his park looks like, complete with all the equipment, trucks, and machines. He explained that the park is for everyone, especially kids. Compared to other similar parks, it is not just a one-time visit but an experience you would want to try again and again.

Sharks Who Invested Robert

Jacob Robinson started Dig World in Katy, Texas, and plans on making it a franchise. He came on the show seeking investment and mentorship from the sharks to make his dream come true.

Jacob’s son experienced a life-altering event that changed their lives completely. He is epileptic and nonverbal because of his illness. He uses a wheelchair.

Jacob started the park for people like his son so that they can enjoy fun experiences like any other person. The idea is to treat them as a normal person.

He raised funding before to get the business started. Instead of leasing the equipment for his park, he buys them. This costs him more, but he does it to be able to update the equipment to increase safety.

  • All safety measures are taken very seriously, keeping kids in mind.
  • You can bring your entire family to the park.
  • Each ticket lets you enjoy the park for at least two hours.

The sharks shared their thoughts about the fact that Jacob actually wanted their investment in return for a partnership in his franchise and not Dig World One. Robert made an offer to pay him the money he wanted, $200K for 10% of both the franchise as well as Dig World One.

Jacob, who is a serial entrepreneur and was mainly seeking guidance for establishing a franchise, felt that the deal was fair for him as he would get what he came looking for. He said yes to Robert’s offer.

Episode Highlights & Key Moments

After Brittane Rowe’s pitch for her business Hella Awkward card games, she asked Mr. Wonderful to pick a card that was placed in front of him. Little did he know, it was a setup to make the room chuckle.

He picked up the card and read it aloud, “Ask each person in the group, what about me annoys you the most?” And he exclaimed, “What a setup!” His fellow sharks laughed in amusement, getting ready to answer.

Beginning with Robert, he said he had known Kevin for 16 years but could never say this to him straight. Now was his chance to do it. He joked that he did not like the way Kevin smelled. The rest of the room could not hold their laughter.

Lori complained that Kevin does not listen to her when she is speaking, and that is the thing she hates about him the most. To this, Kevin replied, “That’s not gonna change.”

And Daymond actually had a long list. He said he does not like Kevin’s valuations, or when he says “you’re dead to me,” or when Kevin falls asleep at dinner right in front of him.

When Kevin asked Mark, he simply responded by saying, “Kevin is perfect.” To which Kevin said he would go to Mark and give him a kiss. The room was filled with amusement again.
