Arsy Khodabandelou Pitches Woof On Shark Tank

Highlights

  • Arsy Khodabandelou brought Woof in the fourteenth season of Shark Tank.
  • The entrepreneur did not get any offer from the Shark panelists.
  • With no Shark Tank deal, the Woof pet app has been making progress with new downloads and subscriptions.

The countless products showcased on Shark Tank often emerge as the solution to some necessities of the viewers. Hailing from fashion, food, pet, and more verticals, the variety in these Shark Tank products is wide-ranging. The Woof pet product from Season 14 is one example that met the needs of dog owners.

Making a strong debut on Shark Tank, Woof was presented before the panelists by Arsy Khodabandelou. Although he tried to convince the Shark investors with a strong pitch for his pet app, Arsy failed to get a deal. However, the business is steadily heading towards growth with its usefulness for dog owners.

Below are detailed insights about the Woof pet app as seen on Shark Tank, including its pitch and the investors’ views on the final deal. Additionally, a small section talks about Woof’s journey after the show.

The Woof Pet: Shark Tank Pitch

Aspiring entrepreneur Arsy Khodabandelou appeared before the Shark investors with his specially devised pet app ‘Woof’ in the fourteenth season. Seeking $100K for 10% equity, Arsy’s pitch was centered around how his app was an ideal pick for dog owners like himself who lived alone.

The entrepreneur described that the Woof pet app could be helpful during times of emergency for pet owners, such as a car accident or heart attack. During these situations, using its geolocation timer, Woof’s support structure starts its work.

Woof initiates the process by contacting the owners. If the owners do not respond, the support reaches out to their emergency contacts and then begins a wellness check. After three months of work, the Woof app had received four instances of support. However, none of them reached the wellness check stage.

Arsy added that if Woof reached that stage, local authorities and animal welfare shelters would get in the process. Highlighting that the idea came to him when he faced an emergency, the entrepreneur reiterated the app’s importance.

According to Arsy, the Woof pet app costs $2.99 each month/$29.99 each year. Till his Shark Tank appearance, the app had 102 subscriptions and 317 downloads. Adding that Woof could be used for any pet, he claimed that he had spent only $2400 on marketing.

Why Did The Sharks Not Invest In Woof?

The first Shark investor to raise a concern was Daymond John, who was apprehensive about Arsy not owning the name ‘Woof.’ So, he exited the deal. Robert Herjavec felt the Woof pet app was meant for a small section of people only who did not have family or friends in a certain location. This is why he, too, walked out of the deal.

Despite appreciating the entrepreneur’s vision, the other Sharks also chose not to invest because of their apprehensions regarding its potential returns.

The Woof Pet: Journey After Shark Tank

The budding entrepreneur from New York and pet parent Arsy Khodabandelou approached the Shark Tank judges with his company ‘Woof’ in 2022. While it is still too early to comment on the growth of the pet app, below is detailed information on the business’ developments after the show:

Although Arsy failed to secure a deal on the show, he stuck with his vision and kept going with the Woof pet app. After Shark Tank, the app received over 500 subscriptions and more than 3000 downloads. Additionally, Woof managed to get $50K through a seedfunding round, which Arsy used for running ads.

As of 2024, the company’s website shows that it is now selling products like Woof Hat and pet rescue stickers. Plus, Woof pays up to $25 to its users for each referral.

Conclusion

Despite failing to get a Shark Tank deal, the Woof pet app has kept growing after the show. During its pitch, the panelists stated concerns regarding its name and viability. Taking the feedback in a positive way, Arsy became persistent and worked towards getting good traction for Woof.

With new subscriptions and downloads along with the expansion of offerings, Woof is inching towards meaningful progress.
